Manila, Philippines — The San Beda Red Lions are eyeing to bounce back and regain its throne as they take on the Arellano University Chiefs side that is expected to have made major moves in the Game Two of the Season 92 of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) seniors basketball Finals series at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The San Beda Red Lions shoot for their ninth NCAA title in 11 years and 20th overall—against the Arellano Chiefs, who have yet to join the NCAA honor roll in the 3:45 P.M. clash.

The San Beda University Red Lions edged out the Arellano University Chiefs, 88-85, in Game One of the best-of-three series last Friday. But the San Beda’s second-year head coach Jamike Jarin remained wary against the Arellano uprising.

“Arellano University is a tough opponent. I believe they will make the adjustments. But we will prepare for them. We want the championship back to our school,” Red Lions coach Jamike Jarin said.

The San Beda went on to clinch the Game One and move a win shy of burying the ghost of last season’s defeat to their bitter nemesis Letran Knights.

“If Game One is hard, expect Game Two to be the hardest because we know Arellano University will make that adjustment,” said Jarin, whose debut in NCAA Season 91 was spoiled by that Finals drawback to Letran Knights.

Robert Bolick put up a total of 24 points foe the Red Lions, including a six points in the stretch, in the Game One. He also helped contain Jio Jalalon, who completed a total of 21 points in the Game One contest but wasn’t a factor in the dying seconds.

The Red Lions skipper Dara Sara also played a critical role and scored 6 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists. Meanwhile, Benedict Adamos had 16 points, seven rebounds and one block.

On the other side of the floor, the Arellano University head coach Jerry Codiñera said that the key would be team chemistry.

“We relied more on individual plays in Game One. We need to stick together and play as a team in Game Two,” Arellano Chiefs coach Codiñera said. “We have to be smart. We have to pass the ball and look for the open man. We also need a better start.”

If the Arellano University Chiefs secured the Game Two victory, a decider, if necessary, would be played on Thursday. —
